Genesis is a university intern of the Capacity Building and Communications program of the Private Institute for Climate Change Research; she is working in the MACC-SAN project (ICC).
She is currently conducting her research work on organoponic vertical garden models, as a response to the COVID-19 crisis and on the promotion of food and nutritional security in five communities in the department of Sololá, within the framework of the MACC-SAN project.
Genesis holds the title of Agroforestry Technician from the Del Valle University of Guatemala, central highlands campus. During 2017-2021 she has acquired knowledge in the areas of: agroecology and agroforestry.

She has participated in courses of the national agroforestry meeting, and she is accredited as a Promoter in Environmental Education with Emphasis in Climate Change. She is currently studying the last year of the bachelor’s degree in Agroforestry Engineering at the UVG, central highlands campus.
