On March 29, the ICC successfully completed the leadership of the Technical Secretariat of the Guatemalan System of Climate Change Sciences (SGCCC), and handed over this responsibility to the National Institute of Seismology, Volcanology, Meteorology and Hydrology of Guatemala (INSIVUMEH).
The exchange of the Technical Secretariat took place in the celebration of the General Assembly of the SGCCC, in virtual mode via Zoom. The activity was attended professionals from the public and private sectors and universities in the country, who are members of the System.
During the assembly, the audience expressed their congratulations and satisfaction for the work carried out by the ICC, in the 2019 – 2022 period. Alex Guerra, Ph.D., general director of the ICC, thanked each of the working groups that contribute to the Guatemalan System for their support and congratulated and exhorted the INSIVUMEH staff upon assuming the leadership.
To close the event, Wilson García, director of INSIVUMEH, affirmed the commitment to the continuous improvement of the SGCCC, and concluded by thanking them for the confidence of being delegates at the head of such an important entity.
