We have:
automatic weather stations in Guatemala and El Salvador, which generate valuable information for crop management, watershed analysis, drought and flood risk studies, among others.
They measure 7 meteorological attributes every 15 minutes. In addition, they receive monthly preventive maintenance and the data generated is quality controlled every week.
We support:
agro-climatic roundtables (Sololá, Escuintla, Santa Rosa, Suroccidente) providing climate information to technicians and agricultural producers for decision making.
With the data generated by the weather stations, we prepared information newsletters of the El Niño/ La Niña phenomenon (ENSO), cyclones with potential threat to Guatemala and El Salvador, the beginning and end of the rainy season and the behavior of the heat wave.
