Today, February 23rd, Alex Guerra, Director-General of the ICC, gave a keynote presentation called “Sugar, climate change and the Paris agreement, to an audience with representatives from more than 50 countries around the world. The presentation was held in Marrakech, Morocco, Africa. Alex Guerra, PhD, talked about carbon footprint in sugar production, the projections and challenges of future climate, focusing in the African continent, and about the general content and status of the Paris Agreement. As examples, he used the work that the ICC has developed in Guatemala in alliance with communities and enterprises.
