Last March 23rd and 24th, the Private Institute for Climate Change Research ICC, participated in the workshop “The Cycle for the Humanitarian Program CPH”, which was organized by the Humanitarian Team of the Country EPH, supported by the World Food Programme, The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund UNICEF, the Office for Coordination in Humanitarian Affairs OCHOA, and it was hosted in Antigua Guatemala.

The workshop was part of the actions to prepare the humanitarian actors that are currently in the country, to respond against emergencies, as well as to integrate the private sector in the processes of handling emergencies and damage evaluation. During the workshop, participants were able to:

Besides the ICC, other institutions participated, such as Save the Children, Mercy Corps, COOPI, International Plan, CENACIDE, Child Fund, GVC, Lutheran Federation, COCIGER, World Vision, CARE, TROCAIRE, COCIGER, and CEDEPEM.

Those workshops allow several professionals (including ICC’s) to broad their knowledge in topics related to disaster risk management, thus have a better capacity to answer against the challenges that an extreme event can present.
