To celebrate World Soil Day, the ICC participated in a special event at the San Carlos University, in Guatemala City, where the ICC shared its experiences in researching soil conservation in Guatemala.
Other expositions were hosted along the ICC, including the “Development of the semi detailed study of the soils in the Republic of Guatemala”, by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food, Main results of the research and innovation in conserving and managing the soils of the sugar cane region in Guatemala, by the ICC; Studies held in Guatemala by the ASA program of the CRS Guatemala, and the Law Initiative for soil conservation by the Agriculture, Fish and Livestock Commission of the Congress of Guatemala.
World Soil Day is celebrated annually on the 5th of December at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) headquarters in Rome, the regional offices and through national and local events.
