March 20, 2026

Between March 17 and 19, ICC participated in the VIII Regional Consultative Forum of the Central American Policy on Comprehensive Disaster Risk Management (PCGIR), held in Panama City. The event brought together representatives from institutions, governments, international organizations, and key stakeholders committed to reducing disaster risk and strengthening resilience across the region.

The forum was consolidated as a high-level strategic platform to promote regional coordination in addressing challenges related to climate change. For ICC, participating in this space is essential to align institutional initiatives, stay informed on emerging trends, and remain up to date on advances in comprehensive disaster risk management across Central America.

Over the course of the three-day event, ministerial dialogues, keynote conferences, and technical presentations were held, addressing in depth topics related to innovation and technology applied to disaster risk management. The Innovation and Technology Expo showcased new tools and approaches for mitigation and adaptation, while technical roundtables and thematic events enabled a valuable exchange of knowledge and best practices among more than 500 regional and international participants.

ICC’s participation in this type of forum reaffirms its commitment to innovate in the field of risk management. It also strengthens strategic partnerships and incorporates new perspectives that will enrich its institutional work, contributing to enhanced resilience in its interventions in Guatemala and El Salvador over the long term.
