ICC hosts rainwater harvesting workshop
Several social actors gathered today at the Auditorium of the Guatemalan Center for Sugarcane’s Research and Training, CENGICAÑA, to share experiences about rainwater and cloud water harvesting.
The workshop was called “Exchanging experiences about water storing with focus on rain, as a measure to adapt to climate change” and it had the participation of professionals from the Secretariat of Science and Technology, SENACYT, the Ministry of Public Health and Social Assistance Escuintla, San Carlos University South Western campus, Guatemalan Association PROAGUAS, Plan International, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food, MAGA, Durman Inc, City Halls representatives, community leaders and professionals from the Private Institute for Climate Change Research, ICC.
During the workshop, the professionals exchanged experiences about managing resources and techniques related to rainwater harvesting in communities with water shortages, as well as the methods to ensure that water is suitable for drinking.
Around 45 people participated in the event held today, and it lasted for around four hours.
