Last Wednesday March 9th and Friday March 11th, the last socialization and information session of the proposal for the “Creation of Permanent Lands for Mangrove’s Measurement” project, was held in Monterrico, Taxisco, Santa Rosa and Mazatenango, Suchitepequez.

Those socialization events were part of the consultancy that validated the methodology of the permanent lands for forest measurement in mangroves, which was elaborated by the Private Institute for Climate Change Research, ICC, and INAB region IX. This is part of the Marine-Coastal conservation project that is executed with funds from the United Nations Development Program, UNDP.

Representatives from governmental and non-governmental organizations that work with mangrove’s protection, research and conservation in the Pacific Coast of Guatemala joined the presentation.

Final documents are expected to be delivered in INAB’s headquarters by March 28th.
