Representatives of the Private Institute for Climate Change Research, ICC, are participating in the “Reflections to strengthen resilience” forum which started today at 8:30 am in a hotel located in zone 13, Guatemala City. The Forum is organized by the Executive Secretary of the National Coordination for Disasters’ Reduction, CONRED.
Our director, Alex Guerra, PhD, is the expert in Climate Change for this forum, and German Alfaro, coordinator of the Disaster Risk Management program, also joined the conversation. Representatives from the United Nations’ System and the Secretariat for Planning and Programming of the Presidency, SEGEPLAN also integrated the roundtable.
During the event, which will last for around six hours, participants will talk about Climate Change effects, land use planning, housing and human settlements, objectives of sustainable development and humanitarian assistance as the basis to build resilience
With this forum, the National Dialogue Table for the Management of Disaster Risk Reductions, from which the ICC belongs to, begins its annual activities for 2016.
