ICC started a series of training workshops on rainwater and fog harvesting. The workshops are being conducted by the Disaster Risk Management program of ICC in coordination with World Vision and the Municipality of Siquinalá; and funding by We Are Water Foundation from Spain as part of the project “Rehabilitation of the Water System damaged by the Fuego volcano eruption in Siquinalá, Guatemala”.

The project aims to strengthen the capacities of community leaders from 12 neighbourhoods in the urban area of ​​Siquinalá, and establish 2 demonstration projects at the community level with the support and technical advice of ICC. The project will also build new aerial crossings for the main pipeline of the water system of ​​Siquinalá, which will be in carried out by the municipality with technical support from World Vision.

The first workshop about the water situation at the global and national level was carried out by ICC technicians, Francisco Fuentes and Walter Sazo

The workshops will be held in the next three months at the municipality of Siquinalá and they include a field trip to rainwater and fog harvesting projects already implemented by ICC in other areas.
