The low temperatures that have been recorded during the nights and early mornings of last week will continue through this week, as INVISUMEH reported Monday, January 23rd.

The weather’s current conditions are under the influence of a high pressure system, which allows cold temperatures to continue during the nights and early mornings. However, conditions will be warm during the day. Also, light drizzles are expected to occur in South Western Guatemala.

It is advisable to be careful with forest fires, since the combination of solar radiation during the day and low humidity can allow fires propagation.

Solar protection and warm up

Lately, authorities have issued several recommendations for us to protect against cold and solar radiation. We highlight the importance of complying with those recommendations, since following them can avoid respiratory infections and unnecessary visits to doctors. Staying warm to beat the cold in our places of residency and using solar screen are recommendations that are worth remembering.
