Today, 36 community leaders from Masagua, Escuintla, participated in a fieldtrip to the Achiguate basin, where they strengthened their knowledge in integrated watershed management.
The fieldtrip visited several points, including the tree nursery in Parramos, Chimaltenango, the division between the Coyolate and Achiguate watersheds, the middle parts of such basins, among others.
During the visit, participants learned more about the importance of an integrated watershed management, the importance of forests and soil conservation, as well as the interaction between the highlands and low lands in a watershed.
The fieldtrip was also supported by community leaders of San Jose Calderas, San Diego sugar mill, and the ICC. We share the best pictures.
