Today, 33 community leaders from Todos Santos Cuchumatan, Huehuetenango, graduated from the Community Adaptation to Climate Change Training, which was supported by the Low Emissions Development Project LEDS.
The training course started back in March and finished by December. It was constituted by three modules: integrated watershed management, adaptation to climate change, and disaster risk management. The modules were complimented with fieldtrips. Due that most of the participants are fluent in Mam (native language of Guatemala); a translator was needed to facilitate the course.
Diplomas were handed out during the closing ceremony, to certify that participants approved the training course. Jose Furlan from LEDS, Andres Mendoza, mayor of Todos Santos, Pablo Yax and Luis Montufar from ICC joined the closing ceremony. We share some photographs.
