The goal of the Private Institute for Climate Change Research -ICC- for this 2017 is to reproduce one million plants in the tree nurseries.

To achieve this goal, the ICC has established different alliances with communities, municipalities, civil associations, FONTIERRA, INAB region IX, and other organizations and thus, established tree nurseries along the Pacific slopes of Guatemala.

The plants that are reproduced are native and exotic species, and are reproduced with energy, wood, and conservation purposes.

Alliance with INAB region IX

Thanks to the alliance with the National Institute of Forests –INAB-, communities get technical guidance and training in forests, which is given by INAB and the ICC, which also provides with supplies, and regular monitoring.

This week started with the process of filling bags, delivering supplies and sedes, and the seedbeds are being established at the tree nurseries supported by the ICC.
