Private Institute for Climate Change Research, Guatemala. Last Friday the 6th of April, the ICC participated in a “Training course to prevent and control forest fires to reduce Greenhouse Gasses Emissions and to improve environmental conditions” along the officials of the Ministry of Environment of Escuintla, officials of the City Halls of several towns in Sacatepequez, Chimaltenango, and Escuintla, the NAVY, and local authorities. This course was facilitated to members of the environmental rangers, COCODES, and other government and non-government institutions that are committed to protecting and caring for the forest areas of our country.
This activity is withheld to build capacities in key strategic actors to prevent and conserve forests in the Pacific Slopes of Guatemala, strategic action area of the ICC.
