The Climate and Hydrology Research program of the ICC informs that the Sixteen Tropical Depression has become into NATE Tropical Storm, and it is above the shores of Nicaragua. This cyclonic system will cause rains to intensify in the next days. Also, the Intertropical Convergence Zone is close to the country, allowing humidity to enter the country, which has resulted in soils being saturated. These conditions can cause sudden floods, and landslides. The Southern region of Guatemala and specifically the midlands will be more vulnerable to the inconveniences of constant rains.
This system could intensify up to hurricane in the upcoming days. This condition could allow even stronger rains in the Southern region of Guatemala.
