A virtual course on climate change was imparted to a group of teachers in Mazatenango, department of Suchitepéquez, Guatemala, by our Capacity Building and Communications Program, in order to comply with our goal of strengthening climate change capacities of key actors in the Guatemalan society.

The course was held from the 19th to the 26th of October with a total of twelve teachers of the primary and high school levels from the “Perpetuo Socorro” School (COPERSO). The content of the course was distributed in four sessions of 3.5 hours each, addressing the following topics: scientific basis of climate change, climate vulnerability, and mitigation and adaptation to climate change. The participants completed a series of tasks and activities to strengthen their learning.

At the closure of the event diplomas were awarded to the participants.
The teachers received their diplomas from the training course on Climate Change.
