A community tree nursery was implemented in the Tahuexco village located in Mazatenango, Suchitepéquez. This action was carried out in collaboration with the National Forestry Institute (INAB) and ICC.
The nursery has species such as Aripin (Caesalpinia velutina), Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus camaldulensis), Mahogany (Swietenia macrophylla) and Plumillo (Schizolobium parahyba), as well as species of Red Mangrove (Rhizophora mangle) and Botoncillo (Conocarpus erectus).
The installation of the tree nursery aims not only to contribute to the improvement of livelihoods and the environment, but also of a forestry and green culture among the local population.
