The training in climate change started in La Gomera, Escuintla, last Friday February 24th, with the participation of 55 people from different communities of the region.
The training called Community Adaptation to Climate Change is facilitated by the Private Institute for Climate Change Research ICC, and supported by several enterprises that are members of the Association of Independent Banana Producers APIB, and the municipality of La Gomera.
Participants will be able to learn more about integrated watershed management, disaster risk management and climate change. They will complement the knowledge with three fieldtrips.
The first session was facilitated by Ronal Perez, specialist of the ICC, who shared basic knowledge about watersheds. Participants also had the opportunity to learn about the 38 watersheds of the country through a didactic puzzle.
