Fernando is a technician of the Capacity Building and Communications program of the Private Institute for Climate Change Research (ICC).
Prior to joining the ICC, Fernando worked as an environmental sanitation inspector at the Type B Health Center in the municipality of Malacatán, San Marcos.
Fernando studied six semesters of the Engineering in Local Environmental Management degree from the South West University Center (CUNSUROC) of the University of San Carlos of Guatemala (USAC).
In addition, he has a university technician degree in Industrial Engineering from the Rural University of Guatemala; he is also a Technician in Environmental Sanitation from the National School of Technicians in Rural Health of the West (ENATESARO – MSPAS).
Fernando has participated in different courses on environmental care, sustainable management of natural resources and human health in climate change; he speaks Spanish, and English at an intermediate level.
