The ICC is providing technical assistance to the Government of Guatemala, through the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MARN), for the water supply of the temporary hospital located in Santa Lucía Cotzumalguapa, Escuintla that is being built for the health emergency due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The ICC assistance focused on proposals for the implementation of a mechanical well and rainwater harvesting, which were presented by our Director Alex Guerra, Juan Low, coordinator of Climate and Hydrology and Francisco Fuentes, expert in Disaster Risk Reduction. Previous ICC groundwater studies served as the basis for the recommendations presented to the government authorities.
The temporary hospital will be prepared to attend the health emergency due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
