Project: Training in Integrated Watershed Management for community leaders from the Pacific Slope of Guatemala.

Project implementation dates: June 2014 to April 2015.

Partner organizations: Intecap Santa Lucia Cotzumalguapa (Domestic).

Official goals: To develop capacities in community leaders to better manage the natural resources in their region based upon hydrographic basins.

Specific goals:

  1. To handle the concepts, strategies and tools for basin management, being able to analyze and understand the phenomenon and local environmental conditions.
  2. To build capacities to work with associative groups and families and to guide/promote local actions, focusing on water storage.
  3. To be able to formulate projects that contribute to local environmental management and income generation for families.

Location: Community leaders from Champerico, Nueva Concepcion and Chimaltenango
