Yesterday, a group of 22 young leaders from different communities of Champerico, Retalhuleu, completed successfully the Community Adaptation to Climate Change Training.
The training, given by the Private Institute for Climate Change Research –ICC-, was facilitated in 60 hours, distributed in three modules. During this training, participants learned about integrated watershed management, climate change and disaster risk management.
This training is supported by the Association of Guatemalan Sugar Producers –ASAZGUA-, through the “Study Opportunities” scholarship program.
Participants were thankful for the knowledge they obtained during this training, and assured that they will use their new acquired knowledge for the benefit of their communities.
Other training groups
The participants of the Community Adaptation to Climate Change Training from Tecun Uman, San Marcos, visited the ICC today to learn more about rainwater storage systems. They also visited the demonstrative rainwater storage system that is installed at the facilities of the ICC.
