Giovanni González

GEF-UNDP Project Coordinator

Giovanni is part of the Integrated Watershed Management Program of the ICC. He is currently the coordinator of the GEF-UNDP Volcanoes Project implemented by the ICC for the planning of 6 watersheds of the Pacific slope of Guatemala.

Prior to joining the ICC, Giovanni worked as a teacher at the Faculty of Agronomy of the University of San Carlos of Guatemala (USAC). He has experience in hydrological scale modeling of watersheds for the estimation of water balance and water erosion.

Giovanni holds a Master’s degree in Integrated Watershed Management from the Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center (CATIE), and a second Master’s degree in Hydrology from the Regional School of Sanitary Engineering and Hydraulic Resources (ERIS) of the USAC. His native language is Spanish, and he speaks English at an intermediate level.
